The world of bacteria is rich and complex, with around 10 million different species already identified… and that’s just a tiny fraction of the actual number present on earth. Our intestines alone are home to more than 1,000 species, or almost 40,000 billion bacteria, making up our intestinal microbiota, which is probably the most densely populated ecosystem on the planet. For each of these species, there is a multitude of strains with diverse and varied characteristics.
Many of these diverse intestinal flora are of no particular interest to our bodies. Some of these can be harmful, sometimes leading to or the development of more or less serious illnesses.
Others, on the other hand, provide real health benefits for our bodies and also help to maintain the balance of our intestinal flora.
All these micro-organisms are commonly known as “probiotics”.
Our comfort and well-being depend in particular on the constitution of our intestinal microbiota and its probiotic diversity.
This diversity makes it essential to research and select strains in order to identify those that are truly worthy of interest.
The Sorbial laboratory, with its many years of experience in micro-organism biotechnology, has been able to isolate and sequence a multitude of strains using cutting-edge scientific techniques and in partnership with the world’s leading teams of experts in the field of probiotics: INRAe and the MICALIS Institute. Sorbial thus has its own “strain stock library”.
Strains of interest …
These include 3 lactobacilli with remarkable properties
In order to guarantee the purity and preserve the genetic variability of these strains, they are deposited and kept at the Institut PASTEUR in the Collection Nationale de Cultures de Microorganismes (CNCM).
A beneficial synergy
to keep your body in balance
Given the potential of these micro-organisms for the intestinal microbiota, a partnership between INRAe (the French national research institute for agriculture, food and the environment) and the SORBIAL laboratory has been set up to assess the extent of their probiotic characteristics.
Our microbiotic strains have been studied by teams from INRAe and the MICALIS Institute. A great deal of research has been carried out into their anti-inflammatory, anti-pathogenic and other probiotic properties, suggesting a wide range of applications and benefits that you can enjoy with our various lactobacillus-rich food supplements.
LYOPROFORM® dietary supplements are not simply assemblies of probiotic cultures purchased from industrial suppliers, but a scientifically selected combination grown in synergy using a manufacturing process that the SORBIAL laboratory has mastered.
